The national campaign resources ‘Keep Antibiotics Working’ support the Government’s efforts to reduce inappropriate prescriptions for antibiotics.
The 'Keep Antibiotics Working' national campaign was first launched in October 2017 across England. This was to support the Government’s efforts to reduce inappropriate prescriptions for antibiotics by raising awareness of the issue of antimicrobial resistance and reducing demand from the public. The campaign was relaunched for the second time on 5 November 2019.
Some campaign resources are available now for healthcare professionals to download or order (where applicable).
How do these resources support other Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) work?
AMR public and partner engagement to improve clinical practice and promote wider understanding of the need to reduce inappropriate prescribing is on-going.
These campaign resources align with the TARGET toolkit, resources and the Antibiotic Guardian campaign.
Healthcare professionals are encouraged to use the ‘patient information leaflets’ with their patients to help raise awareness and education about AMR. There are resources to support raising awareness amongst healthcare professionals through the national World Antibiotics Awareness Week toolkit.
