What's this for?
Developed with teachers, this lesson introduces pupils to Sugar Smart World and the Sugar Cube Invaders.
Pupils look at how much sugar is in some of our everyday foods, and use their maths skills to find healthier swaps.
You will need to have an app installed to enable you to view the PPTX files on a mobile device.
After completing these lessons, pupils should be able to:
Early years foundation stage
Numbers: children count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20, place them in order and say which number is 1 more or 1 less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract 2 single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing.
Shape, space and measures: children use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time and money to compare quantities and objects, and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes, and use mathematical language to describe them.
Use this early years PowerPoint to teach pupils about healthier choices and improve their understanding of numbers and quantities.
